Popis | Uranium mineralization in deeper parts of the Rozna deposit is bound to graphitized, chloritized and albitized zones of cataclasites in host rocks metamorphosed to amphibolite facies. It consists mostly of disseminated coffinite, and to a lesser extent of strongly coffinitized uraninite. Coffinite contains up to 1.2 wt.% Zr, 0.6 wt.% Ti, 2.6 wt.% REE, and 0.008 wt.% Y. The LREE/HREE ratio in uranium ores (3.9-11.6) and an indistinct europium anomaly (Eu/Eu* = 0.59-0.85) indicate U-mineralization of the hydrothermal type. Coffinite occurs in association with authigenic monazite, xenotine and anatase, which originated through hydrothermal decomposition of metamict titanite. The authigenic hydrozircon is common and rims either the grains of the original metamorphic zircon or occurs as small, well-shaped grains containing up to 0.41 wt.% U, which can be explained by an extensive miscibility of USiO2 and ZrSiO2 phases. |
