Description Current digital age requires almost every business or public activity to have a quality website, costing money if it is to look and function appropriately. For university staff – i.e. researchers, administrative workers etc., investing money into their webs is not always an option. An obvious solution is to try and build the required webs themselves or via some inexpensive agency. This comes with a lot of obstacles and not insignificant risks of security or other flaws. In this article we present a web management service WebCentrum built at the Institute of Computer Science at Masaryk University, which offers a centralised solution for general web hosting needs of the university or external projects and activities, lowering the web creation barrier for non-technical users. We introduce the backing technology, include information about the CMS used, describe the process of service development and present a few case studies.
