Description An archamoeba is reported as an agent of severe granulomatous lesions in internal organs of European tench Tinca tinca (L.) kept in an experimental recirculation system. Aetiological diagnosis of these granulomatous lesions resulted from a detailed study of their ultrastructure. Primary role of amoebae in aetiology of the granulomas was supported by negative results of microbiological examinations focused on Mycobacterium spp., fungi and mycoplasmas.
