Our two colleagues from CSIRT-MU, Václav Chlad and Andrej Tomči, performed extremely well at the international cyber security exercise Locked Shields 2021. Thanks to their professional approach, the Czech Republic's team ranked in the global competition on 3rd place.

“I really appreciate that thanks to CSIRT-MU I was able to participate in LS 2021. I take a lot of knowledge from it, probably the most for me, but what I appreciate much more is that I worked with experts from various institutions and companies during the exercise and I had the opportunity to see how they work and think,“ describes one of the winners Andrej Tomči, an FI student and a member of the CSIRT-MU cybersecurity team. He and his colleague Václav Chlad were especially appreciated by a letter of thanks from Karel Řehka, Director of the The National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NÚKIB). He especially appreciated their direct contribution to the fulfillment of tasks within the technical scenario of the Blue Team.

This year's training and exercises took place in difficult conditions caused by a pandemic situation. Both the trainers and the organizers had to work remotely, often within a single sub-team, which generally complicated mutual communication and coordination. Despite all this, the training technical team was able to overcome the difficult situation and placed 3rd.

“It gave me an experience you don't just come across. At the same time, it is a huge dose of motivation for me to continue my studies and work, so that I can continue to improve and keep working,” adds Andrej. Congratulations and so on!
