Description	3-Oxo-2-pentylcyklopentane carbonitrile is used as intermediary product for manufacturing af a part of fragrant compositions. This developed manufacturing process starts from 2-pentylcyclopent-2-en-1-one that reacts with hydrogen cyanide in the presence of catalyst, i. e. polymer supported hydroxide anion under corresponding nitrile formation. 3-Oxo-2-pentylcyklopentane carbonitrile may be used for further manufacture without separation.
