| Description | Gastroesophageal reflux (GERD) is a major public health problem in the Western world that can lead to a number of complications, such as reflux esophagitis, Barretts esophagus, and adenocarcinoma. Although no significant role of single IL-1 variants in reflux disease was found in our study, IL-1 haplotypes may be associated with susceptibility to GERD and Barretts esophagus. |
