Description	Chromatograhic separation of sterols was optimalised for their fraction collection and subsequent MALDI MS determination using silver nanoparticles as matrix. The off-line HPLC-MALDI MS was found to be suitable for analysis of nonpolar compounds and can be utilized as alternative technique to gas chromatography.
