| Description | Scholia represent a significant heritage of the philological activity of ancient critics . Their main aim was to contribute to correct understanding of the text while taking into regard both the linguistic and literary perspectives. Scholia reflect thus the linguistic research in the antiquity of which the contribution brings a brief overview. |
