| Description | Employing transformation optics, we propose a method for eliminating a class of singularities in optical media where the refractive index goes to zero or infinity at one or more isolated points. We find a refractive index distribution equivalent to the original one that is nonsingular but shows a slight anisotropy. The method is likely to find applications in designing and improving optical devices. |
