| Description | The hardness of number of coated systems has been measured using variety of experimental techiques ranging from traditional macro-Vickers indentation to ultralow-load. The aim of the paper is to give a short survey of various models making possible to extract microhardness of thin films from so-called complex microhardness (involving also microhardness of the substrates), and their mathematical description. |
