| Description | This paper deals with the problems of maintenance of electrical power systems (monitoring and control) and argues for the assets of state-oriented maintenance as oposed to the time-oriented maintenance. The reasons for state-oriented maintance are justified with a detailed description of design and implementation of a system dedicated to simulation of power system processes based on the multi-agent approach. The resulting system consists of individual agents that communicate by means of a heterogeneous dynamic network. The prototype implementation of the system is based on open standards CORBA and KQML that are also briefly described in the text. |
