| Description | In our work, we present a general, indirect method, using which it is possible to quantify the percentage of the given amino acid modified in total in a protein sequence (protein modification degree, PMD). From the knowledge of the identity of amino acid residues modifiable during post-translation process, PMD and its changes during time of particular amino acid residue can be determined. Such a quantification can be achieved by means of easy stable isotope modification (via 18O-labelling by trypsination) and consequential MALDI TOF MS analysis. |
