Description In this paper, we present a prototype design of a semantic adaptive grid infrastructure called SEAGRIN, based on a decentralized execution of workflows. The design of the infrastructure is motivated by the needs of a biomedical grid. We provide an overview of current semantic grid technologies along with discussion of their suitability for this particular purpose. We address some of the shortcomings of existing solutions in our proposed infrastructure.
