Description	Stereoselective preparation of substituted aplha-methylene lactones from corresponding hydroxymethylene enolates yielded derivatives suitable for stereoselectivity and regioselectivity study of their 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions with various 1,3-dipolar compounds.
