Description The aim of this pilot study was to determine whether the combination of a two-phase spray of carbon dioxide microparticles in the carrier gas with a plasma jet is a suitable tool for removing dust particles from the paper surface. The basic requirement was to remove surface contamination without damaging the treated material. The aim of this study was to determine the operating conditions with the highest efficiency in removing dust particles and to verify the safety of this method in terms of possible degradation of the treated material. The results showed that, under selected conditions of use, cleaning with a combination of two--phase spray and plasma proved good results, especially in removal of submicron particles of organic nature, and shows promise as a potential alternative to traditional cleaning methods.
