Description | The castles of Rokštejn and Brtnice in the central part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands represent the centers of two initially independent lordships, which from the late 14th century became united — first with their center at Rokštejn Castle, and after the military destruction of Rokštejn, with the center at Brtnice. The study compares the evidence provided by the cultural-historical landscape based on surface surveys, lidar analyses, and cartographic and written sources regarding the appearance of the lordships and the formation of their economic hinterlands. |
