Description | Archaeological research of Rokštejn Castle revealed the destruction of the castle bathhouse, built by Margrave John Henry around the mid-14th century. The building was destroyed under the subsequent owners of the castle, the Waldsteins, sometime around the year 1409, based on an analysis of the occurrence of coins found in the destruction layer. The structure was two stories high, equipped with a hypocaust heating system. Its construction was mixed: the ground floor was built of masonry, with a timber-framed upper floor above it. |
