| Description | The present paper is based primarily on these two seemingly disconnected postulates—a place of essential medieval piety, which has now become a medieval icon and the Mecca of modern consumerist pilgrimage–tourism. Besides a historical and historiographical reflection, we aim to enrich this reflection with a particular point of view—with a current, individual experience coming from the experimental project called “Migrating Art Historians”. |
