Tento projekt zahrnuje základní výzkum zejména doktorských studentů odborné matematiky (algebry a geometrie, teorie čísel, matematické analýzy, učitelství a historie matematiky) s jejich školiteli. Školitelé jsou pracovníci ÚMS PřF MU, případně odborníci z jiných fakult MU nebo jiných vysokých škol. Projekt počítá také s podporou doktorských i magisterských studentů při prezentaci jejich výsledků na studentských i mezinárodních konferencích. Ve vědecké práci je kladen důraz zejména na původní matematické výsledky, jejich publikaci v odborných časopisech a prezentaci na konferencích.
