Successfully Completed Project Focused on Transformation into a Hybrid Cloud Environment

In cooperation with the CESNET Development Fund, we successfully implemented the project "Transformation of the on-premise MS environment of MU and the cloud environment O365 MU into the integrated hybrid cloud environment M365 MU".

The project's aim was the full integration of the on-premise Microsoft environment at Masaryk University with the Azure cloud environment to increase user-friendliness and security and more efficient use of Microsoft Office 365 cloud services.

The Future of IT at MUNI: Interview with the Vice-Rector on IT Plans and Challenges

In an interview with Vice-Rector Radim Polčák, we discussed changes in IT at Masaryk University. We discussed how the university is adapting to new needs and how it manages funding and maintaining a high level of IT services. We also touched on the Vice-Rector's view on the importance of the adaptation of the Institute of Computing to the University's strategic plan and the role of IT during crisis situations such as the recent covid-19 pandemic. We also discussed future plans, including the relocation of the Institute of Computer Science and its involvement in research activities and projects such as EOSC.

Briefly and Clearly on the Implementation of EOSC in the Czech Environment

Colleagues leading the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) CZ initiative have published an article that presents a comprehensive overview of the Czech approach to the national implementation of EOSC. It briefly and practically summarizes the current plans for the development of our national data infrastructure for FAIR research data. It is now available for reading in the arXiv scientific papers repository.
