Description The paper examines the Czech national perspective on the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI), specifically Autonomous Weapon Systems (AWS), and their implications for international humanitarian law and international criminal law. It aims to provide insights into how the Czech Republic navigates the challenges and opportunities arising from AI within the subset of international law. It analyses the Czech legal framework governing the use of force, conduct of soldiers, criminal liability, and jurisdiction. The paper emphasizes the general flexibility and technology-neutrality of Czech law, while also noting its alignment with existing EU and NATO standards, its reactive nature, and the limited domestic debate about recent challenges. It concludes that more transparent and more precise regulation is necessary to ensure accountability, legal certainty, and compliance with international obligations.
