Recently, the DigiUni project has entered a new intensive phase, which involves training more than 600 new lecturers who will coordinate the creation of innovative digital content, organize teaching, and ensure the quality of courses on the upcoming DigiPlatform. The training includes a combination of independent study of specialized modules, live online meetings, and subsequent sharing of experiences directly at Ukrainian universities.
Masaryk University – and with it the Institute of Computer Science – has been involved in the project from the very beginning and in the spring of 2024 welcomed a delegation of nearly forty academic and non-academic staff from Ukrainian universities to the rector's office. They came to Brno to gain practical know-how in the field of hybrid teaching and digital technologies in education.
The DigiUni project has also attracted the attention of the European Parliament, which selected it as an example of good practice in a video promoting the EU-Ukraine partnership. The video also highlights the importance of education for the future of the country through the story of a Ukrainian student and the activities of the participating universities, including coordination by Masaryk University.
DigiUni aims to create a unified online educational platform that can be used by thousands of students and academics, connecting formal and informal education across disciplines and accessible regardless of place of study or the current challenges facing Ukraine. The project thus not only supports the development of Digital Competence and hybrid teaching, but also represents a concrete contribution by MUNI in the area of sharing experience and technology for teaching in the 21st century.
