We tried "external meeting" online

During April and May, there were three online meetings with you regarding the HR Award. On Monday, April 27, we presented the results of the questionnaire for employees and the identified weaknesses and strengths of the institute. You can watch the recording of the meeting here.

Then a mind map opened in GroupMap, where you could collaborate - comment on problem areas and come up with suggested solutions. You can see the final map here (ideally download the file and zoom in a lot).

Thursday 14.5. and on Tuesday 26.5. then there were half-day blocks replacing part of the external meeting via MS Teams using the interactive tool Sli.do. Within it, we asked you various questions mapping the current state and your needs and wishes. You could watch the votes of others in real-time. All results from Sli.do can be found here.

And what will follow? Based on all the input we have from you, for which we thank you very much once again, we will prepare the first draft of the action plan - that is, the steps that we plan to take first to improve working conditions and the environment.

Šárka Kvizdová - new Institut bursar

Since April, ICS has a new bursar. Dana Šrubařová was replaced in this position by Šárka Kvizdová, who came to us from the Faculty of Agriculture of Mendel University. You will find out in this interview why she applied for the position of ICS, how she perceives the position of the bursar and how she perceives ICS.

Described IT positions at ICS

"I'm in an IT position, I'd like to move my career, but I don't know how." This is often heard from you, and you may still be wondering where to find this information. Two years ago, the Catalog of IT Positions was created, which describes IT positions through the institute, always at three to four levels. It was published as an appendix to the Director's Measure No. 3/2018 and you can find it on the official document server of the ICS, but also in the folder on HR Sharepoint.

A year later, a scheme was created that indicates possible paths of career shifts between these positions, and at the same time wage minimums and maxima were determined for each position and its level. Maxima is only available to divisional managers, who will of course give them to you for inspection and at the same time can explain to you why you have the concrete salary within this range. All the mentioned documents can be found here.

Cybersecurity Series, Part 1: How to connect from anywhere securely?

The cybersecurity team of Masaryk University is preparing a series for you, which you will be able to look forward to in every issue of the ICS newsletter. The series is about to focus on thematic enlightenment and respond to threats not only from the cyber environment.

In the first part, we will look at a really secure internet connection. In the current period, when it is still recommended to work remotely, it is definitely not advisable to underestimate a secure connection. Masaryk University provides many services that will facilitate such a working mode, one of which is a VPN or virtual private network. VPN from MUNI is one of the really secure ones, we cannot guarantee service from other providers and you should (as always) be careful about them.

And how does it work? The VPN will create an imaginary tunnel into which a potential attacker will not see inside your work, communication, and passwords. Your device uses an encrypted connection and is therefore protected against external intruders. An indisputable advantage outside of security is that you gain access to, for example, MUNI electronic information resources (ezdroje.muni.cz). You will find clear installation instructions on the MUNI IT service website.

Information about moving ICS together at the website

Because there will always be a lot of questions about our moving, at least you should find the answers to the main, common, and practical questions on the ICS Portal page. There are already maps and photos of how to get to the Operational and Economic Division, moving schedule, etc. We will gradually add information as it will be specified.

There are two new meeting rooms at Šumavská (Gotex) since Wednesday, May 27, and one printer has also been moved from Botanická to Šumavská to the 1st floor. Available at the Botanical remains a meeting room on the 3rd floor - C311. You can read about meeting rooms and printers here.

If you have your own suggestion for completion, write an e-mail to: vicar@ics.muni.cz.

HR consultations

I would like to remind you of the possibility that it is here for all of you, and that is to use consulting with HR. If you are solving a problem in the workplace, you have something that you do not want to say to your superior (or you have already tried, but nothing has happened), you do not know how to proceed, for example in your career, you have an incentive that you would like to communicate. some private matter - these can all be topics we can deal with.

What about anonymity? It's up to you whether you want the information to remain between us or whether you want it to continue to communicate.

And how does it work? Ideally, write to me first and we will find a suitable date. We can meet at certain hours in my office, in the meeting room or we can go somewhere for coffee outside the ICS.

I look forward to. Adela

We unify login to MUNI

Web services to which you have previously logged in via a secondary password will be transitioned to MUNI Single Sign-On from 1 June 2020 at the latest. You will now be able to log in to them via the UCO and the primary password.

This will simplify your access to various services and make it safer. All you have to do is log in to the first service, and you will be automatically logged in to the next service with the same data. The MUNI single login will thus live up to its name and, with a few exceptions to be added later, will be truly single.

This change will affect dozens of public and supporting web services managed by MUNI, such as ezdroje.muni.cz, elf.phil.muni.cz, video.muni.cz or kompas.muni.cz.

And also about 3000 national or global services (incl. our RT system), to which you apply by selecting a university in eduID.cz and then university data, eg rt.muni.cz, meta.cesnet.cz, digi.law.cz , ebscohost.com, kramerius-vs.mzk or bookport.cz.

On the contrary, it does not affect other than web services, which also use a secondary password, but to which you log in differently than via the MUNI Single Sign-On, such as logging in to a work PC, VPN or Eduroam.

You can check the old and new look of the login screen in the IT catalog.

If you run a web service yourself that is not yet connected to the MUNI Single Sign-On, we recommend that you look at the instructions on how to connect it. Your users will gain unified access to your service, and you won't have to worry about local user accounts or take responsibility for any leaks passwords that users now enter into your service. Colleagues will advise you on this at idp@ics.muni.cz.

Any questions or problems with logging in, please send it to it@muni.cz.

Bring your favorite food to the grill, something to drink, or a blanket, ping pong bats, or a musical instrument. We will book the date according to the doodle vote. We look forward to it!

Historical window: After a quarter of a century, the ICS leaves Botanická street
